Under the Banyan Tree Psychological Services

Our Philosophy: The Symbolism of the Banyan Tree
The Banyan Tree is a powerful symbol of resilience, nurturance, and interconnectedness. Its vast, grounding roots represent the strength of inner resilience when nurtured in the right environment. The sturdy trunk symbolizes the support and stability essential for growth, while its sprawling branches and shaded canopy provide shelter, protection, and healing.
In India, the Banyan Tree has long been a "symbol of connection" - a place where people come together for wisdom, support, and community. Its branches extend widely, offering shelter and unity, while its deep roots represent the strength of shared experiences and support systems.

What do we do?
Just as the Banyan Tree extends its aerial roots, it creates new trunks. This network of support mirrors our approach to care - one of sustained growth, adaptability, and deep-rooted resilience. Our practice integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and family systems therapy. These methods, like the roots of the Banyan Tree, nurture growth and provide the stability needed for long-term healing.
The tree’s longevity and strength remind us that healing is a process—one that flourishes when individuals are met with understanding, patience, and a nurturing environment. Healing is a collaborative journey. We work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure that individuals receive holistic, personalized care at every step.
At Under the Banyan Tree Psychological Services, we echo this spirit of unity and belonging, recognizing that healing is not a solitary path but a journey nurtured by compassionate presence, attunement, and unwavering support. Our practice offers a safe and nurturing space for individuals across the lifespan, acknowledging the co-contribution of the individual, therapist, family, and wider community in fostering psychological well-being.
Whether seeking support for emotional healing, personal growth, or navigating life’s transitions, Under the Banyan Tree provides a sanctuary—a place where individuals can find stability, connection, and the courage to heal. Many clients have found that, like the Banyan Tree's branches reaching wide, their growth extends beyond individual therapy sessions. They experience transformation not only in their personal lives but also in their relationships with family, friends, and community.
We provide specialized care for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities—whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or personal growth. Much like the cool, comforting shade beneath the sprawling canopy, our practice offers a tranquil space where individuals can pause, reflect, and regain strength.
